Slow in US?

Is it just me or are things really grindy in the US? Network requests that take 5s normally take 20-50s.

I just had an unusually high lvl player (217) join my alliance (house of cats), could that be it?

No, player level should have nothing to do with your connection speed.

This seems to have cleared up now. I noticed several comments about the problem in chat as well.

I experienced this severe lag as well. Oddly it seemed like my game would boot up on the mobile network but on WiFi it would load to 100%(loading bar) but never actually get in game. It seemed to had lasted for a couple hours. Now everything is back to normal.
