Achievements not working

Hello;
I've been unable to get my Achievements on Google Play Games. I'm approx. level 10 with over 100 PVP wins. So I think I would have qualified for a few Achievements. I can clearly see I'm signed into Google+ when I load the app but it only shows the Leaderboard, or Lifetime LeaderBoard.
I've disconnected the CKS from Google Settings -> Connected apps. Relaunched the app so it would connected again.
I've removed the game several times from my device, cleared the cache, etc.
I've even installed it on my other Android device and while it shows my account, it doesn't show any Achievements, even after I go out a target to complete a few basic ones.
I have other games on both devices that work fine with Google Play Games Achievements, so I've concluded it must be something specific to this game that is preventing me getting any Achievements.
Primary device is a Galaxy Tab S 8.4, KitKat 4.4.4
Secondary device is a Galaxy S5, KitKat 4.4.4
Game works on both, same result no Achievements gained.
Please advise.
