Hey. I asked this yesterday. Apparently their use is to show you all the weapons you can't use, especially the 7star 6400/8000 Power ones. Unless you pony up some big bucks, it's going to take to forever to reach whatever drone level that is.
I just figured out the answer to this mystery!! Nevermind my post above.
The extra drone parts/weapons can be used to upgrade (increase power) each particular weapon currently on your drone. The only problem is your drone's power has to be greater than the weapon's power. For example, you can't upgrade your weapon to level 15 with a power of 3360 if your drone's power is only 1000.
