Too Much Power Creep

I don't about you guys but I think the game should last two months before increasing the level of our base. Our weapons become obsolete after just one month? That's ridiculous and it's making this game into a hell hole. Who agrees with me?

I agree. Seems that by the time it's fully upgraded you need a more powerful weapon to keep up. It's now feeling more like a chore than a fun game.

I'm late to chime in on this, but ABSOLUTELY AGREE I have the 10.5 GARMR (assault) and 10.5 SETH (heavy). I've pasted one of my earlier posts that speaks to your issue exactly ...
The problem is that 10.5 rated weapons are over a month old and essentially obsolete vs a max'd out TIER 11 defense without using a combination of medkits, knives and grenades.

Given the new matching algorithm, your weapon power must be a "closer" match to the defense level so theoretically the 11.5 would even things out. What they've have essentially done is reduced the useful lifetime of the HEAVY to try to "force" us to upgrade every month.

If you're competing PvP, then you need to win the latest rated weapon OR buy one outright when on sale. From where I sit, I figure the HEAVY has 1 month and the TESLA has 2 months (maybe longer) of usefulness in PvP. The penalty NOT to upgrade is an increase use of medkits (which aren't cheap either) at the tune of 100 kits for about $20 (a little more than 500 GOLD). If you are using more medkits than that for a month, for example, it's actually cheaper to get a sale item for 980 GOLD.

Glu has got it down to a science ... similar to a casino, they will get you one way or the other, the "house" never looses !!!

The only way to break out of this cycle is to get ahead of the curve. I figure a 12.0 or better will go a long way down the road, but even that will become obsolete against a 13.0 defense tier, provided the game actually lasts that long. LOL
Without spending, ANGELS and I know you do not, it's an uphill battle ALL THE TIME, because the moment you try to upgrade via GOLD you've accumulated for free, the weapon is already obsolete. You can of course stock up on RED BULL and win via PvP, but that costs time. I figure if I had to place a bare minimum value of anyone's time it's maybe 30-40 bucks an hour ... that's a fortune man.

Unlike entertainment (games), I can place an intrinsic value on my time ... after all TIME is MONEY

I concurr. When Tier 10 was released, I expressed concern that the accelerating increase in weapon and base defense power makes it increasingly difficult for newer players to succeed. Now that more new players are buying/winning high power guns, they're essentially frozen out of PvP because their health isn't up to taking more than a couple hits in the only matches they're offered. Additionally, I have a couple comments about the latest campaign:

    1) I think that it's crazy for GLU to rollout a new campaign before fixing the version 3 release bugs -- that makes absolutely no sense to me.

    2) I realize that this saved on development costs and probably even reduces the download size, but almost all of this campaign's missions use exactly the same backgrounds, skins, and animations as previous campaigns, just changed guard levels -- I keep thinking to myself, "Didn't I kill you already?"

RIGHT I agree totally, but this "treadmill" method that Glu has adopted for releases really hinges on getting you up to the next level or TIER. Currently, the only way to accomplish that is to offer a new campaign. Now here is the "Rock and Hard Place" they've got us all between. If they do not offer new prizes every week, the hardcore "paying" fanatics will loose interest and move on, they release an update too soon, everyone gets ****ed off and looses interest and moves on, the average players like myself are always playing catch up and the tools they've provided frankly don't work.

YOURS is the only solution ... rollback this latest update and suspend any further releases for as long as it takes to correct the ever growing list of problems. This monthly cycle worked fine on 2.0 when weapons ruled the day. 3.0 has gotten so complex that I don't think they have a clue what the problem is, where to look for it and for that matter how to fix it ...

The new players, who Glu must continue to attract, are being penalized for NOT being able to play the game properly and they are the ones that will simply give up and walk away ...

I wanted to add another observation, please indulge me for being overly loquacious.

The hardcore players (if they are human) who consistently qualify for GOLD League, are in the TOP 30 EACH and EVERY PvP Cycle, have AP TOTALS off the charts and have had 11.5 weapons for weeks (some are already sporting 12s or better) fall into one of two categories:

    (1) They have some sort of obsessive / compulsive disorder bordering on Autism or Savant Syndrome since they should have become bored months ago

    OR

    (2) They are mostly computer generated phantoms, illusions, spooks that are capable of fast, repetitive and tedious tasks without any need for sleep or nutrition.

AND .. there are of course the REAL (human) skillful players who can actually compete at this level; they're suffering the most, I might add.

The IRONY here, that GLU seemingly is oblivious to, is that collectively we as players really don't care LMAO Just give us a product that works and delivers on the promise that you've publicly stated, and I quote ...

    • New Support Drones will add firepower to both your missions and base defenses.
    • Equip drones with machine guns, launchers, shields and healing for extra support
    • Collect drone weapons and XP modules to fuse and upgrade your drones
    • Compete online! We have updated matchmaking to be more competitive!

Is ANY of this true? Even more IRONY: the FOURTH item advertised is completely dependent on the first THREE ... AND ... the only way to deliver on the 4TH is to ELIMINATE the 1st THREE ...

Now if that isn't an example of "circular reasoning" then I don't know what is ... hence the treadmill is now broken.

"Circular reasoning (Latin: circulus in probando, "circle in proving"; also known as circular logic) is a logical fallacy in which the reasoner begins with what they are trying to end with. The components of a circular argument are often logically valid because if the premises are true, the conclusion must be true."

I simply call it the "RECYCLE BIN" ... enough said.
