This Thursday's Global should be for 14.5 Assault weapons. Glu has just done a New Content Update and added a 14.5 Assault to their inventory. It is the Hoplite, 14.5, 1.02M/1.68M.
If recent practice holds, the Hoplite will be the Top 30 gun and the Top 10 gun, 14.5, 1.55M/2.56M, will be added at the start of the Global itself.

Of all the things that can go south in this game, to break the STORE? ... I'm truly speechless ...

NOTE:
My SHORT RANGE weapons are well past mid-lifecycle and should remain effective throughout the current tier and reach par during the next tier. The plan is to upgrade both of these weapons in roughly four weeks, during the TIER 15 HEAVY Global Event, to a rating of 16.5.
The newly acquired 14.5 TESLA (BLACK HOLE) has an effective lifetime of 8-12 weeks from date of acquisition; a 15.5 TESLA will be secured in four weeks as well (TESLA GLUT).

It looks like I will be right there with you. I will have the same goals, but not quite at your levels.
I am currently finishing the last upgrade for my Tier 13 base.
My primary weapons are the 14.5 SPEAR ELITE and the 13.5 DOBERMAN. For my current style of play, the primary weapons are only used to qualify entrance into the campaign mission, so I will not being trying very hard to upgrade either of them.
I just finished the 2nd day of league play and won the final parts for the 14.5 HELEPOLIS. After equipping it I tried fight a short range battle, but I am still facing the severe video lag, so I will not be fighting very many short range PVP battles.
That leaves my go to weapon, which is now the 14.5 QUAZAR ELITE, fighting primarily long range battles. Until the 15.5 TESLA, I guess I will be in cruise mode also for the next 4 weeks.
Following yours and Brad's lead and game play ideas, the stress level of CKS has definitely gone down to where competing is actually enjoyable again.
It's quite a difference from the grind em out drudgery of competing for weapons parts, in events that may or may not even take place.
I find the most effective way to fight SHORT battles, especially in close quarters, is as follows:
I only take short battles when the payout justifies the risk; I'm always prepared to use a medkit if it's required.
Firstly, I use my HEAVY against the SENTRIES but my weapon of choice in this scenario is the ASSAULT rifle (it should be rated at or above the TIER you're fighting AND fully equipped). The reason for this is it's accuracy which is noticeably better than that of the HEAVY (rounds can get away from you easily).
Secondly, only fire when NOT being fired upon and duck often. There's always a lag in enemy fire immediately following an enemy drone rocket launch; there's also a lag of 2-3 seconds following a SENTRY rocket launch; this is a great window of opportunity.
Always choose specific targets and time your attacks; you can usually empty an entire clip before the enemy starts firing again. It's so ingrained in me now that ducking has become a reflex action triggered by the clock in my head.
Always reload a fresh clip whenever you duck.
I only mention this battle tactic because it should be effective when encountering the frame rate issue that plagues so many players. It's time consuming and takes patience, but if the vault is large enough, it's worth it; under TOOBAD time expended on a battle is usually of no concern anyways.
A killer drone takes the edge off and has a huge impact after the "big guns" have been neutralized.

Weapons
Sniper: Spear Elite, 14.5, 1.28M, No upgrades
Assault Werewolf Elite,15.5, 2.56M No upgrades
Tesla: Flare 13.5, 1.38M, fully upgraded
Heavy: Silke, 15.5, 3.26, upgraded 1 level.
I don't anticipate any changes in weaponry, but hope to complete Base upgrade this Global.

The Silk IS the ST, only on steroids. It has the same optics and handles identically. The Silk is what the ST will be when it grows up. I intended to upgrade it more, but at 1 Level upgrade it handles everything easily. I have not used a single Medkit since I switched to it. I loved the ST, I love the Silk even more. BTW, the Flare is still working like a charm against all comers.
I figured the FLARE would hold it's own for at least 2 months. The key to the HEAVY victory edge is being one (1) full rating above the TIER you're battling; for us that's always the prevailing TIER since we always face the best the game has to offer. This is what we once referred to as the MONTHLY HEAVY competition.
TOOBAD hasn't changed this very much ... the SIEGE TOWER is holding it's own but against the TIER 14 BASES, medkits are becoming necessary at times; depends on the opponents' upgrade status of his base and drone. So while my decision to wait until 16.5s are available later this month, this month the short battles are more difficult than they were last month.
Once I get back on track layer this month, HEAVY ON DEMAND will be activated and take it's place alongside the TESLA GLUT.
I know it sounds somewhat convoluted, but if there's anyone who can follow this logic it's you ...
Congratulations on completing your Tier 14 Base, as you can see, I still have some work to do.
Frequently the VIP will start on Friday morning, 24 hours after the Global starts. This has been pretty consistent.
Sometimes it begins on Mondays coincident with the League Events. I haven't nailed down the schedule as yet, so if it doesn't start tomorrow it will start on Monday. On some occasions, you'll see a VIP MON-WED and another VIP FRI-SUN in the same week.

It's as if you battle hard, spending a small fortune in the process, and finally reach the pinnacle ... the very TOP of the Leaderboard ... RANK #1 ... only to find out there's another 30 lunatics waiting for you.
But yes ... RANK #30 (Google) vs RANK #1 (IOS) has been steady all summer, almost TOO STEADY for statistical comfort.
What is not so obvious and all but invisible to the "naked" eye is that there are 200-250 other players below RANK #30 that will score 8,500+ AP and that is the real difference between IOS and Google.
This is why a player such as myself feels trapped by mediocrity, refusing to proceed any further up the ranks. All you can do is play for free and take what's given to you. What's even more troubling is that RANK #300 on Google is RANK #30 on IOS; while the TOP 30 get all the attention, it's the middle ranks that are truly noteworthy.
So months of Google mediocrity merit perennial leaderboard status on IOS, for those that give merit to such accomplishments. The irony is that as an inexperienced player when I started PvP, I thought this was the "normal" until comparing notes with you and that's when I first realized the handicap I was operating under; statistical analysis revealed that was only the tip of the iceberg.

Still no sign of the STORK MAN eh? It's a strange feeling ... I only know him (or anyone else) via an obscure forum on the anonymous Internet and yet you get a "feel" for someone and their habits, so I have a "concern".
I did manage to locate the the Stork, he is a member of the French Clan FRANC, which has the #1 and #4 players on the AT Leaderboard.. He may not be active, all 13.5 Weapons, Tier 12 base, 261K, 91 K Drone, 11,319 VP.
And there are those of us that live for the anonymity of mediocrity.
