I've got the BLACK HOLE showing again at 3,500 GOLD LOL
All of these weapons are variations from the last HEAVY GLOBAL Event ... ignore them and proceed as normal. Better yet, take a break and go have some real fun.
If in two weeks, TOOBAD suffers a cruel and unusual demise, that will mark the departure of SCORPION as well.
My advice to everyone is to not spend one single BAR of GOLD on this nonsense and if you do, you'll have absolutely no one to blame but yourself. If you don't have the will power, then do what I've done ... SHUT DOWN YOUR DEVICE and do something else.
Watch the New England Patriots, go bet on a horse, the Fall Championship Series starts soon culminating in the Breeder's Cup (now that's action) ... there's nothing here I'm afraid to say.

On minor point to keep track of: Will the top Super VIP weapon become the top VIP weapon two weeks later? It did this week.
Yes that's the way it's always been ... that's why I say WAIT until the beginning of the cycle when the new region is released. The TOP Super VIP is always the VIP in subsequent week(s) using another name ... I repeat, there is ONLY one unique VIP Event to spend GOLD on each cycle ... load up once a month and ride it through; that's what TOOBAD was designed for.
For example, the BLACK HOLE was the Super VIP Prize, followed by the QUAZAR ELITE as the VIP Prize a week later (HEAVY GLOBAL). This is a repeat of that event with the name "BLACK HOLE" being used yet again.
So while the Global Event WAS a surprise, the VIP Event was NOT ... and since Global Events are rendered meaningless by TOOBAD, the only concern should be the VIP Events anyway.

I am particularly happy with my setup this week:
Base: Tier 14, 1.47M
Drone: Level 131, 580K with 510K weapons
Weapons:
Sniper: Spear Elite 14.5, 1.28M
Assault: Wendigo, 15.5, 2.56
Tesla: Manta, 15.5, 3.88M
Heavy: Silk, 15.5, 4.07M
I've been meaning to ask about the HEALING RAY and SHIELD GENERATOR ... have you noticed any benefit like large jumps in HEALTH (Healing Ray) or being able to withstand a direct ROCKET HIT (Shields) from a 2.95M drone?
While it is very hard to quantify the effect of the Shield Generator, The Healing Ray gives a noticeable jump on the Health Meter. I have tried to avoid seeing if I can take a hit from a 2.95 Drone, so I wouldn't be able to say. I suspect the answer is no, but with more moderate opposition, I think they help.
I agree with everything in this post, but I am now not sure when the beginning of the cycle will be or even if there is a cycle anymore. Will it still correlate to the opening of a new Region? I am not so sure. Will the Tesla Global be next week or in two weeks? Who knows at this point.
It is no big deal, because it does not change my game strategy, but I would love to know.
Fortunately, I am now able to get information about the Super VIP weapons and that allows me to make my buy in decisions. BTW, my buy in the last Super VIP to get the 15.5 Tesla now looks like an act of genius. I almost waited for this one, which has nothing I am interested in. Once again: Better to be lucky than smart!
Forget about what weapons are offered in the Global, the cycle begins when the BASE TIER jumps to the next level, so in two weeks we shall see; the TIER du jour will be 15 and the weapons of choice will be 16.5.
You thinking Tier 15 next week and the Super VIP the week after that?
Absolutely ... you'll know when the 16.5 weapons show up as Super VIP Prizes (that's two weeks away). Remember the BASE is released early, so the better barometer is when the region is unlocked.
BTW you're acquisition of the 15.5 TESLA was brilliant because you got it so early in the cycle. If I hadn't already used my monthly budget, I might have done the same thing, maybe.
I'm on a 60 day schedule when it comes to weapons. My jump will be from 14.5 to 16.5.
I wanted to provide an update on the state of Drone weaponry on IOS. While there were a couple of players who had 2.95 Drones (MREDW and BZETZ) they were clearly Glu bots and have now disappeared. There are now 2 players with 1.41M Drones (Level 143), and 2 others above 740K (Level 136) but they have clearly been pursuing a strategy of upgrading Drone, not Drone weaponry. Since none of those players has access to the rare 740K weapons, the most powerful Rocket Launcher in the IOS universe is likely 510K, same for Machine Gun and other attachments.
In short, IOS players will rarely face defense Drones with over 100K weaponry and never face an opponent with over 510K weapons. Life is good on IOS.

An extremely late start this afternoon in the bizarro world of GLU ... up means down, right means left and heavy means tesla. The field needed a 12+ hour head start to be able to withstand what's to come in 3 days ... Mua - ha - ha

TESLA: 14.5 BLACK HOLE (acquired 08/23)
ASSAULT: 14.5 IMMORTAL (acquired 07/30)
HEAVY: 14.5 SIEGE TOWER (acquired 07/30)
As you can see, my short range weapons are now reaching end-of-life at 60 Days. Remarkably, the SIEGE TOWER is still winning battles; the longest useful lifetime to date for a HEAVY.

That's cool ... I guess when referencing a 2.95M drone, 510k weapons is implied. You're at the perfect drone support level now to really concentrate on weapons since the parts can be recycled, with all of the XP intact, if and when GLU makes weapons parts in larger denominations.
There's no real need to further upgrade the support drone itself, unless of course, you need to deposit your diamonds somewhere. **SMILES**
I also noticed an 11.5 "LUTE" to go along with the 11.0 "FLUTE" parts. ** SMH ** Those GLUTONS have a cruel sense of humor.

I am running the Manta Tesla,15.5, 3.88M and the Silk Heavy, 15.5, 4.07 as my go to weapons and love them both. Lots of room to upgrade too.

On another note ... on the rare occasions when I need to swap devices, there's usually 1 or 2 Androidians that try to raid my diamonds; sometimes they're successful, sometimes they're not but lately not only are the attempts way down (FIND NEXT) but the few who actually try are failing so I guess the drone is making the difference? LITTLE ME makes a great watch dog, I guess.

I'm trying to motivate the SCORPION to get into the game, but can't seem to get it in gear; I think it's partly due to 9/11 (NYC), the anticipation of a new region / tier release due next week, as well as the seemingly never ending GLU screw-ups and missteps. They are TRULY the epitome of incompetence. I pick up my tablet, think about GLU and put it back down.
Of course one must not ignore the start of NFL football **SMILES** Great game last night.
Maybe I'll go terrorize the Bronze Leaguers and use them for target practice come Monday; that's always fun.
DRONE DEVELOPMENT: 176K - 113 / 150 - 1,228,800; once the curtain rises the ROCKET LAUNCHER is now killing the spook after only two (2) hits, sometimes before my first move forward. Considering that all I fight are max'd out TIER 14 defenses, this is note worthy and although I can't substantiate this, I believe using all those 125, 1,000, 8,000 parts (of all kinds) somehow provide some extra punch.

I am still 3rd on the All Time Leaderboard, Tonyzaper22 is 2100 VP behind and Ausausa is in 2nd 2500 ahead of me. First is out of the question. Patrickpiolloit is 35K ahead and plays hard every day. Interestingly, TZ and PP are French, Ausausa is Albanian. I am the only American at the top of the leaderboard. Fifth place is over 15K behind.
Interesting 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are spread by say 5,000 VP (2,500 victories) ... just a couple of weekly events; so you can't take a break. I say let's take out a few "contracts" and eliminate the competition.
I can order a drone strike ... just give me the word !!!
