You should not remove the game from the device, that's asking for trouble. When the update is live it will point you to update from the Google play store. it's most likely being propagated at this time.
Please do not try uninstalling or reinstalling the game as mentioned earlier in a different thread. Try restarting the device and let me know if either of you guys are still getting the error code.

Do not reinstall the game as from the last gameplay on your device worked, it is from the server! They are still updating, so we only need to report to the admins until they will take action!

lost 5 pvp's today due to game freezing. That's diamonds gone, energy (20 min. a bar) gone, winning streak out the window, rockets, grenades wasted. I'm looking for an alternative game if this doesn't improve. Great game when it's working.........

But after I restored the full backup (I took before I deleted the game) it worked.
But I lost all progress on the Global Assault.

You can try backing up your iphone and then deleting the game and then restoring it.
