A question about leagues

Thank you guys for answering my previous question, it really helped. I decided to put more effort into getting into a better leauge and I made silver, the only question is, is it worth it to stop at silver, since I'd have to buy gold to get into the top leauge. Are the prize differences worth it? Or should I just stick with the silver leauge? Thank you all so much.
