Error Code 116000 No Network Connection

After the start of the new league on Monday I left the game to reboot. Immediately upon my return to log in I received the network error code 116000 No Network Connection. Needless to say there is not a problem with my internet connection since I am able to post this thread.
My device is Kindle Fire HD 2nd generation with current Android update.
I have also checked the play store to see if the game needed to be updated but according to the store it is current as well

    I'm getting this same error and it just started today for me.

    Same deal on Google Android ... a whole string of these before game settled down. I counted at least 4 on two occasions before I exited manually and restarted. Even after logging in, the game seems sluggish ... clearly a problem on their end.
