CKS is soon to be "done"..?!?

For the year 2016 revenue from CKS was down almost $15 million.... so the chance that GLU will put a stop to further development of CKS is pretty high. My guess is that CKS isn't going to be developed any more. Maybe just life-support for a while longer, just to squeeze out some last revenue from the game.

"Revenue for 2016 was $200.6 million, a 19.7% decrease compared to 2015, in which we reported revenue of $249.9million. The decrease in total revenue was primarily related to a $43.7 million decrease in our revenue from micro-transactions(in-app purchases) and a $5.7 million decrease in our revenue from advertisements and offers. The decrease was primarilyrelated to declining revenue on a year-over-year basis from catalog titles such as Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Racing Rivals,Deer Hunter 2014 and Contract Killer: Sniper and..."

"...as well as declines in revenue from our Deer Hunter 2014, Racing Rivals, and Contract Killer: Sniper games of $20.2 million, $19.4 million, and $14.8 million, respectively...."

Edit:
This pretty interesting info came further down in the document.

"...We rely on a very small portion of our total users for nearly all of our revenue derived from in-app purchases...."

Thanks for the link. Shame they don't show total revenue listed by game.

It's somewhat comforting to know that Kim Kardashian that dropped $49 million in revenue, also has to pay about 22% royalties for licensed content. So, I don't think CKS has the biggest bulls eye painted on it's back.

But, the fact that regions, levels and new store weapons have halted with Tier 39 for over a month now is very concerning. Those still climbing the ladder will not notice this, since VIP's and store sales continue to reveal "new" content. But, like you say, only a very small portion - 2% according to the filing give "micro-transactions".

    Edit:
Someone needs to tweet "the Donald" that China is getting lower rates on virtual currency (Gold) than the rest of us!

It is scary to look at the investor's page and see GLU's prized lineup! Are these what they plan on adding more content, and investing their future in?

Is this a gaming company, or a new social media app? At least we get 3rd billing, lol.

Asked GLUs lovely customer care if any new weapons or regions were planned.
    But nothing is coming.

This is exactly the wording they used in Mission Impossible; Rogue Nation. Yet, each week, they repaint an old weapon, and re-release it for the events. And a couple weeks ago, the released 5 new Elite Regions, so, a few kicks before it dies?

Rather than discuss with players how it could become a profit producer again, they'd rather make poor, uninformed decisions on their own.
