How to access settings? Turn Sound on?

Hello,
I'm playing on the iPhone. I downloaded the game and accidentally pressed 'next' when creating my character straightaway. Now I am stuck on the screen where you choose your level.
I can't find settings. The sound was turned off from the beginning I have no idea how to turn it on. I'd really like to change my avatar, too.
