IMO there's no way blowout stays active. My 510 Baylor (2x WoH) was closing at a rate over 80% against Gibson without platoon advantage, whereas my 520 switch hitting Reggie Smith (Late + Blowout) was barely above 60%. Both were D10 with skills capped. When WoH pitchers were D1 Blowout worked very well, but as soon as Glu…
Only viable keepers options right now in my opinion are ATGs Yogi, Cy Young (for those who bought him lol) and Paige who's in this weekend Cooperstown rewards. Players with higher overalls than those 3 you are listing will be released before we get the 2020 version (overalls will probably top at 600). Jackie will also be…
I'd honestly prefer that they change the cost of leveling keepers skills so that it's the same as all other players (instead of 5x) for next version rather than allowing us to keep more players.
You should already know by now that players with two always on WoH skills for 6.10 (and now 6.9) are released right before there's an overall jump. So we should see a few towards the end of January, right before 580 legends are released
I tested the Close skill with Edgar Martinez a while ago on a WoH round that started with the score tied and it showed as being active. Rally skill I have no idea.
I disagree, Yogi may not be a WoH closer but he's an awesome keeper option as a lefty catcher with great skills who will end the year at the highest overall possible.
While I agree most Royale WoH rewards have been bad, we still got some great ones like Arrieta, Beaty and Eaton earlier this summer, and VanSlyke and Baylor recently.
I actually don't mind that Hank got his vsRHP skill replaced by MoB. That makes him more versatile for WoH as you can now use him vs LHP too with both skills active at the start of the round.
I went Diamond 3 weeks ago and absolutely no regret so far. Favorite aspect of this game for me is BY FAR building my team, mainly with HoF WoH. Things got really stale rather quickly at gold when I started pulling 520 legends left and right from mystery boxes. 500 overall HoF rewards were not good enough to make my team…
I see your point, but what I like about it is that it at least makes the decision to chase the legend or not way easier, which is not the case when there are two legends in the box and only one you want.
Of course if both 6.8 and 6.9 are LHPs Lou isn't any better than Jackie for WoH, beside platoon advantage as there are more RHPs than LHPs. But since I've started playing HoF in early July I don't recall that ever being the case. And the fact that Glu is releasing so many righty legend hitters right now and so few leftys…
For WoH I'll easily take Lou over the other ATGs released so far. Hank would be good too as he has same skills, but I'd rather have the lefty hitter. Lou is great for every HoF level and would be so nice to have for 6.9 (or 6.8, if 6.9 is ever changed to a LHP).
I'm not sure anymore that it's only a debate about whether skills activate/deactivate or not during WoH, it seems a little more complicated than that. @criffy has an intersting theory on that subject.Anyway, when pitchers where still D5 on Friday during Royale WoH, Reggie Smith was literally 0 for 8 against Orel at 5.10,…
Even though I like my 520 Smith (Late innings and Blowout), good old vsRHP, late innings and WoH skills have my complete trust, whereas Blowout doesn't seem to work as consistently in WoH since they upped the pitchers level. Smith handles 6.8 just fine for me, but I was more comfortable using 510 Baylor against Gibson…
If I were you I'd cap Cooper (6.10), Mathews (6.9) and Cruz (6.8) for sure, and then Porter (6.7, 5.10, 4.10). Trammel would work for 4.10 and 5.10 too but not ideal for 6.7 If you can cap 5 then Trammel could in theory take care of 6.8, Cruz drops to 6.7 and Porter to 6.6
My D10 Baylor (skills 20/20) was AWESOME yesterday against Gibson. He lost his first matchup, but then went 12 for 12, getting 2 outs only twice. HoF was so much fun, did my 12 cycles without all the stress I had last week with those D5 pitchers after just reaching diamond.
Certainly NOT the HoF I was expecting as my first one after making the move to diamond last week, not fun at all. Got easier towards the end, last 3 cycles to finish my cycle cap took less than 2 hours. Upping pitchers level from 1 straight to 5 was such a shitty move from Glu. It all worked out in the end for me as it…
It was a very frustrating weekend until I finally pulled Smith with less than an hour to go tonight, but it ended up being the perfect weekend for my transition to diamond, thanks to the 50% discount
