Deer Hunter 2014 is hanging on OSX 10.9

The day of the last update, but prior to the update, Deer Hunter started hanging on my Macbook Pro that is running 10.9. I start up DH, it loads and then gets to the first screen where you click on the arrow that points to the right or on the Quit in the upper left.

What is interesting is that the Quit button has the top half cut off and the right arrow (along with the other buttons on the bottom) have the bottom half cut off.

I applied the update hoping that would fix things, but it did not. Any suggestions? I did see something about zones, which I assume means that different parts of the world are in different zones. I am in the USA, the Midwest to be exact.

Try logging out of Game Center before running Deer Hunter. Mine was hanging at the first screen and this solved the problem.
