Not getting credit for all my bounty kills!

I've recently been monitoring my bounty numbers closely, trying to fill my organ kills.
Several times I killed 3 bears in region 8 with brain shots, and went directly to the brain bounty and it did not give me the credits. The same is going on with neck shots.
Is there anything I can do about this, or do I just keep on shooting?
