Lol. That is a great question; I rarely use any consumables. Energy drinks can be very useful in hunts when 4 animals have to be killed with a lung shot, for one example, it slows all animal movement. Hollow points double weapon power so it is helpful if yours is too weak for something; I have used one to insure one hit kills. Batteries refill infrared which is helpful if the weapon you are using doesn't have a long infrared duration. Animal calls are for continuing hunts with successful kills intact and rare calls are to play rare hunts immediately instead of waiting for timer. Probably more than you asked, lol
I have not found much use for the hollow points, but the energy drinks are very useful after trying to get that 4th lung shot or fifth animal for the 20th time......especially with a non-gold rifle with long cycling time.
