In short: you might have to completely close and reopen the app multiple times to get the update.
Same thing happened to me. Got the notice, nothing. Completely closed the DH app, reopened, same message with a button to go try the new event, brought me to the region but still didn't have the new event icon. Closed, reopened the third time and that is when I got the update.

Yeah...it arrived at 5.30 this morning. What bothers me is that I know that. Finished by 6.30...must get a life...maybe later :-)

You guys have the Dino hunt that we U.S. people don't get until this summer, so I guess we're even.
