8 Elder Buck hunt in level 12

All of a sudden I am having trouble finishing this hunt. I used the AR with no problem the first 10 times or so and now I am running out of time and it takes two shots to get a kill. Any suggestions?

    Shoot the animal in the head or organs.

    Have you tried the rifle? It may be slower to fire but they are usually more powerful than the AR.

    I think, for that hunt, a shotgun is recommended.
