problem on bountie

I'm having issues with the bountie for ducks. I hav an assault rifle and killed some ducks and it didn't count them. Is there a certain level that I have to use or a certain assault rifle. Any help with that would be great.

    Only the ducks in regions 1 and 6 count for the bounty. You can use any assault rifle.

    The spurowing ducks do not count towards the bounty.....
