Help!! Lost Progress

I have just upgraded from my iPad Air to a new iPad Mini 3. I backed up everything on my iPad Air (and was using Game Centre - you can see my achievements) including all the games and their data, I have spent many hours and good money to get to the last levels on Deer Hunter.

When I set up my iPad Mini 3 i restored it using my iPad Air image, I fully expected that it would restore my progress on Deer Hunter to where I was on my iPad Air. But instead it has reset everything to the beginning and I am being forced to start from the very beginning.

This is grossly unfair and wrong. Can someone help me restore my progress?

    Unfortunately, you are SOL. While it is sometimes possible to restore between identical devices, moving to a different device will make you start from the beginning. I hope that this gets resolved in DH2016. This has been a very common complaint. I'm just the messenger, don't kill me.

    On the brighter side, DH2016 will be released soon, so you will have to start over again anyway.
