Sorry but I do not follow you. The option to upgrade with gold or eagles was there from the beginning (at least in iOS). And yes, another player said that if you upgrade with gold, you can get 272/280 (depending on the OS) eagles. So, what changed?

I played it for a long time (reached level 394). If I remember correctly, animals do not change at given levels. You can find black wolves in the stampedes. Activate the X rays and you will get heart and lung shots.

OMG! If Region 4 awards 184 eagles and 156 are required to upgrade the AR, and Region 3 has a similar reduction (88 eagles awarded and 74 eagles required to upgrade the pistol) ... that makes a net increase after completing both hunts of some 40 eagles!!!! :eek: This way we'll never be able to fully upgrade the Barton
