The event doesn't finish for another two weeks, so I dare say region 18 will be released before then. Also, my guess is that it will be somewhere in the middle east - about time we had an Arabian region.
Would like to think it's supposed to be a Jaguar, and it's gonna be in South America somewhere. But it does look more like a Leopard, definitely not a Cheetah.
There's one new region every four weeks. Considering how big the game already is, if regions were released any quicker than this then the game would be absolutely huge by now. Also, some people prefer the events, and therefore alternating the release of new regions and new events, one every fortnight, means there's…
I honestly didn't think they'd ever introduce Crocodiles (or any other reptiles), but couldn't be more happy to be wrong. Haven't been this excited for a new region since Lost Temple. :)
Yeah I like them as well, especially trying to do them with a bow. Also, because I'm a little bit OCD, it really bugs me that R16 featured pheasants - if it had featured Bar-headed goose instead (which is reasonable for the Caspian Basin) there would be two standard regions for each type of bird. Oh well...
Certainly wouldn't be any predator hunts though, and it would be the first region not to feature any bovids, unless they included domestic cattle. Then again, glu would probably just put wolves, bears and golden takin in to make it more interesting. ;)
In which case I'd quite like to see kangaroos, tapirs, capybara, wild horses, and maybe some non-mammalian animals, eg crocodiles. :) And as I've said above, a British region probably wouldn't be particularly welcome. ;)
@todfoxx. Yeah, I've always thought they're one of the nicest looking canids, very charismatic. Also, that encounter's not where your avatar picture came from is it? Or did you get that online? And yeah Tod is still used in Scotland, mostly for male foxes (females being vixens). @casajr. Tbh, living in any big city you're…
Yeah there's loads of foxes in London, I've had them making dens in my back garden before. And they're very bold, some will even take food straight from your hand (apparently, I've never tried). But apart from foxes, muntjacs, and badgers we just don't get any animals living anywhere near here. It's quite depressing tbh,…
Living in England, there are so few mammal species found here that when one of them turns up on the game it's quite exciting. This is only the fourth or fifth British species on the game, and it's one I've been hoping for for a while. The fallow deer introduced in HR5 is another. :)
Carpathian mountains run through Romania, including Transylvania, so yeah they just decided to change the name for whatever reason. Maybe because it got leaked?
It still looks like it's a very Transylvanian-themed region, so maybe they just changed the name because Transylvania is actually a real, known place so wouldn't necessarily work as a hidden region.
HR5 is Ruins of Carpathia. IIRC the Carpathia was a British steam ship that had something to do with the Titanic? Maybe a Maritime themed region although that would hardly fit the 'Stay out of the shadows promo...
HR2 was in Europe as well. Personally I'd like to see South America, Australia, Eastern USA and Siberia. I don't think we'll ever see crocodiles or anacondas though, it's been all mammals (and birds) so far, can't see that changing.
