App won't open after recent update

Hi! I updated a few days ago, which appears to be a Halloween type event. Ever since the update, i have not been able to reopen the app. It starts to open and after a second or two, it immediately crashes. It doesn't even get to a loading screen. I have enough space for the app to run. I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling because i don't want to lose my progress. Been playing for maybe a year now.... can anyone help??
