The trick is to not get into range of dash, and that's limited to either extremely quick reflexes with ice blink or use eruption. I personally enjoy going against warriors with my mage since I still can pack a punch against them.

The jewelry might not be a bad option for pvp gear. You can still maintain a pretty high energy reduction, cc, and cd, while getting yourself a 4.6% bonus (two purples).
