What do you do with an outdated maxed-out item? Sell or fusion material?

If you maxed out an item, and then you get a new, better item, would you sell the maxed out item or would you use it to fuse with the new, better item?

I just sold them simply. If you fuse new items using a premium three star maxed-out item, the fuse experience will explode to the maximum grade. This may cost you more game money than you really need to upgrade to its max 10 or 15.

I use mine for fusing, but only after I evolve the item to 2 stars. Using them before that is just a waste, because they give more experience than you need. At second star you need 15 levels so that is a good time to use a previously leveled up items. I usually get about 10 levels from them which is a nice boost. It would otherwise take me several hours to get to that point using the regular items
