Do they appear differently on mages then? I've seen them on warriors/monks and they seemed to be green...

To answer your earlier question, the Greater wings of Light are blue on warrior, green on monk, and a pretty purple on mage.

and blue is by far the best.

The only wings you can farm are the purple wings at legendary hellboy. The other wings were offered for a limited time during the jade forest.
