stuck at splash screen - android galaxy note 3

When I launch the game I end up stuck at the splash screen. It won't load to character select screen on data network, wifi or after reboot.
Ive put money into this and asking for a refund this late into the game will fall on deaf ears, no doubt.
Any solutions on putting out this dumpster fire? Or has a great game gone to shit?
And please don't suggest reinstalling. I've seen too many nightmares on loss of progression after a reinstall to consider that a viable sound and sane solution to this ridiculousness.
