Runners are one thing, but the kids that forfeit because their opponent takes an early lead REALLY píss many people off. The ability to forfeit needs to be removed.
Either remove the "Return to Town" button or
Make the forfeiting player receive NOTHING. Remove two stars and grant NO AP. Credit the winner with three kills worth of AP and grant one star as normal.
As for the people who force quit the app. As suggested above, give the quitter NO AP, take two stars, and give the winning player credit for three kills and a single star.
To support this.. Imagine you spend gems entering the arena, only to have what would have been ~50 AP taken from you by some unskilled player just straight up quitting after you get the first hit, leaving you with no kills and a measly 16 AP. It really gets on the nerves of many.
We should not be penalized because our opponent decides to quit.

Sometimes the server automaticaly return me back to town even though i am winning.
Against runners I just stand still in the middle of the arena, actually won a couple of fights because they got greedy
Regarding the original idea, agreed. Some war this morning quit because he missed a dash and I dropped an orb.. That was the extent of the "fight"
When the arena becomes smaller, it could damage any player currently within the area of the arena that is being removed. Players would be forced to the center and forced to actually fight, or take damage from the outter edges of the arena.
This, along with no ability to forfeit, would be ideal.
Don't worry, I only do this to laggers and runners.

Well Idk about the other idea, but yes I agree that the arena must be made smaller in area, or mebbe just like the spirit brigde, long yet good, or they should make more dungeons for arena, people who like to run will choose this round and large one, and peeps like me who like to fight head on will choose smaller arena and will face each other and will be satisfied will the match.

Hit detection, cheaters, runners, and glitches are all the problems that need to be prioritized. I wish they would give a handful of top players to insta ban hackers. As long as no d bag decides to abuse this, the moderation from glu themselves would be minimum.
I would think runners get a lot of satisfaction from their opponents quitting, they're after the win and 1 star. If they were after AP then they would fight.

I wholeheartedly believe for PVP at least, the option to go back to town should be removed. Why am I asking for this?
Well when players are rank 0 they have a higher chance of meeting someone who is in the same rank. With that in mind, A player from FairandHonor was behind in individual rankings so instead of fighting and winning his stars. He and his guild mates went to a server where little people were on and decided to match up against each other. When they matched up the guild mate who is suppose to lose automatically leaves the match giving the main guy a star win in very little time. Doing this allowed the main dude to get 2 wins within less than 30 seconds. We tried countering this by having our guys go to every single server hunting for this guy (name starts with letter P and ends in 8) to slow him down or whatever we could. We know they have lots of gems to spend and that they could never ever beat us in a non gem spending fight but that's another story.
Taking the option away of leaving match won't completely solve the problem cause they can still fight each other and the loser will just lose on purpose but at least it will take some time to do that or
Take the option of matching opponents away if they are from the same guild (but add sparring option amongst guild members). This will force different guilds to fight each other.

Rewarding more AP to the winner of a "quit" match to make up for possible kills seems to be a good idea to me. The quitter already gets pretty much no ap if they haven't killed you so that's not a problem.
at the moment the game is too nice and still awards everyone in the arena but this is not right at all, stay and finish your fight then you get points, I am sure if a penalty of 0 points is implemented on those leaving the fights, everyone will stay till the fight is over...
making the arena smaller is a real bad idea, imagine a hacker using Mage with multiple orbs????? The small arena will shine like hell.....lol.....
On the other hand monk abilities must be limited like warrior and Mage, he should get frozen too for a while to be fair....
