A lot of people with Jailbroken devices do not have access to "Free Gems". If you have a Jailbroken device, that's probably why you're missing free gems.

Legendary Nian drop and Yellow Rings/Talismens apart from Ancient gear? Almost in full transcendence on my monk just looking for legs, ring and Talismen for hellboy.

Although this works in theory, Blizzard tried it in Diablo 3 and it totally destroyed the game. There was no point in farming for your gear with the Auction House in effect. Adding an auction house or trade system would make the game too easy.
