Boosts in new venue?

I chose the food thermometer boost in the new Chinese venue, but it didn't do anything. Has anyone else tried to use it in there? There is no seasoning station, so the tasting spoon has no purpose, either.

It looks like we have limited options in there for boosts. This should be interesting...

I tried the termperature boost, hoping the wok and soup station would be instant but alas, no.. I've been using Frenzy Flare to overcome the rush when 3 people want the same thing

The thermometer food boost only works in venues that has the "perfect" cooking mechanism, just like the perfect spoon boost only works in venues with "perfect" seasoning mechanism

Actually the primary function of the boost is their super power, while their second function, the coin payout, really does affect the gameplay, sometimes it's a game-changing function, especially the Autochef which gives 100 coins when served

It's not really a waste to use a boost in any level, even when its super power doesn't work

I agree, doan. I've found it's often a better way to get 5-stars gold than upgrading decor to add customers.

That's very true. I'll often use a boost that won't even help me just so I can get the payout from serving it.

I used the newest boost "never burn" on lucky longastine during a chef duel and it did nothing for me. Was a total waste, cause the never burn lady didn't even show up during the slotted time. I've found there are a few boosts that don't work in a few venues. I am sick of using boosts for nothing, as they don't work and don't show up. Please fix Glu! Thanks.

The mechanism used in LL is different than those in BBB or PP or DnC so that boost doesn't work.

Easy Breakdown:

Tasting Spoon = perfectly auto-seasons any dish that requires a "skill gauge" at a seasoning station. NOT to be confused with Big Bay Burgers' Condiment Stations.

Best venues to use:
* Lucky Langoustine
* Pizza Paisan
* Prato Toscano
* Ultime

Food Thermometer = perfectly auto-grills any dish that requires a "skill gauge" at an appliance. NOT to be confused with any food-prepping instance that has a countdown clock!

Best venues to use:
* Lucky Langoustine
* Pizza Paisan
* Chef Arena

Cook Safe = prevents any dish that requires a "countdown clock" when prepping from burning to a crisp. NOT to be confused with thinking this will make your skill-gauge-cooked foods keep perfection. Foods can still be ruined, just not burnt.

Best venues to use:
* pretty much any for its purpose

If I'm not wrong, I remember Pizza Paisan as a venue with seasoning requires a "skill gauge" and grilling that requires a "countdown clock", so the Thermometer boost can't be used there, right?

Instead it should be Ultime where both Tasting Spoon and Food Thermometer works

I have found that the thermometer works anywhere that has a stove. But the stoves at PP are so fast that I never use it there. I stick with fast feet and tasting spoon. Then again I only have 2 boosts available. 😊

Personally, I find it more annoying to use a boost and the VIP never shows.

Does that happen during duels or regular play? Are you serving all customers? The only time that's happened to me is dueling. Sometimes there isn't enough time or I screw up so not all of them show up twice.

It's happened with both, at random. It's just annoying because I feel like I wasted a boost that I could've used elsewhere.

But you still benefit from the boost's Super Power, even if the VIP doesn't show. You lose out on their bonus drops but it really can't be considered a waste as long as your feet are fast, your food doesn't burn, or whatever...

Yeah, but if you're trying to meet the "serve 5 recipes to X" requirement for the daily reward, it's really frustrating.

Oh yes, that's def a big bummer! Conversely, I get so excited when they show up 2-3 times in an episode when I'm trying to meet a daily requirement. It's a lovely little gift!

So far, the only venue in which cook safe works is Dragon Bowl. DnC tasting, therm and cook safe do not work. Same with BBB. I think its because those boosts aren't available until you've passed those venues.

Cook Safe works in BBB, PP, Ultime and D&C. It works when you have the dial type timer. What it does is keeps whatever is there from burning (in BBB, it only works on the fryer; PP works on the oven and stove; Ultime it works on the ovens; D&C it works on the grill, fryer, and oven). What Cook Safe does is basically, when the timer finishes, nothing burns. What's nice is you can leave something there and not worry about things burning so that basically it's like having warming tables. The boosts become available as your fame grows.

BBB doesn't have anything that uses Thermometer (cooking with the bar type timer) or Tasting (anything where you add seasoning with a bar timer). PP doesn't use anything with Thermometer either, but tasting is a life saver. LL uses mostly thermometer and tasting - cook safe isn't beneficial. D&C is a great place for Cook Safe because there's no warming tray and sometimes you can throw something in the oven/fryer early and not have it burn. Ultime can use all of them because you have thermometer (the burner), dial timer (oven) and seasoning.

Its a matter of having the equipment that matches the boost.
