Chef duels scoring anomaly

Scoring on chef duels isn't working properly for me.
I click to duel, it takes the token and my score changes by 10 points (up or down). I haven't started playing yet so it would appear the result is decided in advance. I'm thinking of waiting for the next 10 points increase then ducking the duel to see what, if anything, happens.
I'm also rarely getting the 'you won/you lost' screen.
Anyone else having the same problem?
