What's with all the Purple Pig Tails?

Hello all, long time game player but new to the forum. Just wondering what's going on with all the purple pig tail hairstyles everywhere. Is it like a sign or something? All of a sudden half my rivals list in Chef Duels have pigs tails in purple. No other color but purple. It's actually kind of creepy. Anyone know what's going on?

    It's a reward for a new achievement that just dropped a couple of days ago -- for 5 starring all episodes in a venue that's been open for a while (sorry, I forget which one atm). Many players already qualified for the reward as soon as the achievement appeared so that's why so many avatars began donning the new hair immediately. Just FYI: The reward accessory IS the new style with those blue bits of hair built in, although players can change the main hair color to be what they wish.

    Thanks so much for answering! It's been driving me crazy lol

    I haven't updated to the latest version with Diner de los Muertos and Blue Nile so I didn't get the notice for that achievement. It all makes sense now.
