Yes, they've all been changed to timers because they changed the Food Thermometer boost to Cheers, where all drinks now give you 4x coins.

You can use any boost in any venue, but Tasting Spoon is useless unless you use it in a venue with a seasoning meter (LL, PT, Dubai, Ultime, PP).
