KKH: friends missing from in-game contact list

I was hoping to be able to play this game (Kim Kardashian: Hollywood) with my Facebook friends, who I know already play the game. However their characters do not appear in my in-game contact list--only a few friends' characters show up.
Is this because of a glitch? Or is it because Android users can only play with other Android users? If this is the case, will there ever be support for cross-platform play between Android devices and iPhone?

There will probably never be cross-platform play because they run separately on different servers.
