I miss the old Diner Dash before it was a scam

I used to play this game back when it first came out. It’s so ridiculous how this game has been turned into a scam to take all our hard earned money. I LOVE this game and have spent wayyyyy too much of my real hard earned money on it. The prices in gold are wayyyyyyy too high with way too many things to upgrade to succeed, and the price in real money to buy gold is of course also high. The rate at which you can collect gold freely is a SCAM. 
Can the developers please stop being so greedy and make this game reasonably affordable?

    Honestly, I just spent 25 gold to upgrade two food items in Jamaican me hungry, because I’m stuck on a level. After upgrading those 2 food items AND a couple appliances I still can’t make enough coins to beat the level???? Really???
