Question about franchise player slot

I was recently a gold team and I selected a gold Correa player for the franchise slot. I have 532 franchise coins. My question is, I recently leveled up to platinum and now I can’t get the gold level 10 player out of the franchise slot. I play everyday every type of game. The problem is the franchise player isn’t used and shows he still has 5 games left. I just need any idea of how to get him out of there so I can start getting platinum franchise players? Thanks in advance!

    The franchise player will only play if he replaces a player with a lower rating. Put a scrub in your lineup either at ss or dh and he will be inserted for the 5 games then switch back to your normal lineup
