Old school player. What to do?

I won an Old School player (rating 98 bronze). He replaced a gold level player 163 rating. Should I put my gold level player back in the lineup and trade in the old school guy or trade in the gold player and start to build up the old school player?

    I usually keep both if I get a new player since the new player usually can get bonus points in events, if not you can pick the better of the two and send the other on his way.
