Would I be safe in assuming that the pistol will get offered for credits in the coming weeks, but the assault rifles will stay as gold only. I am basing this from the 'regular' vs 'elite' in the name of the events/weapon.

They do already - the higher events require the 'elite' version. Plus the region coding of the weapons is a giveaway.

Some games use a Facebook login and are able to synchronize between devices. I am having to keep an old phone to play DH on just to keep my progress.

If bounties are introduced for number of head/neck/etc shots will thet be retrospective, or will the count start from when this is introduced? Was a great part of DH, and a handy way to earn some gold and consumables too!
