Maxed out points with my boyfriend

I am at 3000/3000 points with my boyfriend. I have tried dating him and it stays there. Is that it? Or is there some storyline that will advance our relationship? Because if that is it then what is the point of sticking to one person throughout the game? I have spent so many K-gems on keeping up my relationship with my boyfriend and now it all feels like a waste.
