So I've been married heaps of times but what happens when they ask and you say no? Do they keep asking? Or do you lose fans?

I said no and after a few more dates, he asked again. I didn't lose fans though.

No you do not lose fans.
He may dislike you a bit after declining such a magnificent question, (also may be disappointed) but thats really it.
He will ask again after you go on a few more dates with him.
Of course, I don't fully know because i am only with my 2nd husband and have said yes to him and my ex. Some boyfriends tend to propose earlier than others.
My 2nd husband proposed on our 2nd date. Surprised, but said yes because i didnt want to be rude or risk anything.

I just got engaged as well! He asked me while we were on a date (did it for a quest) then I saw him while I was out tapping for energy and he proposed, ha! Got the ring then went back and finished the date with him. It's hilarious because he was ****ed at me before and trying to break up all weekend.
