Delete contacts from Google+

I deleted some contacts from my KKH Google circle today that aren't playing the game anymore but they don't disappear, specifically there are 4 who won't "fade" away, but they are not playing anymore. However most of the inactive ones I deleted previously are gone.

I'm starting to think how high the relationship is may have an effect. Does anyone know what I should do? Or should I just wait a couple of days and see if the contacts disappear? I've checked the google profiles of the people who are inactive and I am not listed in their circles or vise versa.

I sent a ticket in on March 26. Still waiting to hear back.

I also had this crazy idea, king of a long-shot, but during the Valentines event back in February, I made the mistake of dating multiple guys at once and after the event was over I received the break up call. So what I did today was delete the guys from my Google circle and hopefully when/if they disappear. I can re-add them. My only question/concern about this is will the relationship be reset to 0 when I add them again?

    Hi. It takes a while, but it goes faster if those people delete you as well. If that's not possible, I guess you wait.

    You said you sent in a ticket? If it was about the Google+ contacts, I think Google+ is the one to contact. Unless I'm way off base, Glu's game just gets the info we've told Google+ and the Google Cloud to give it. Glu doesn't store the data.
    Did you get an automated response? That is the only way to be sure they got it, but there is a backlog.

    And I don't think we can rechoose how we relate to them if you add them back. I am in the same boat. I want to delete a few people I never see anymore. I'm lobbying for either a one shot amnesty, where we can change the dreaded romantic to professional . You should post there, but ONLY about wanting to get the broken up romantics to professional issue.     I just read the thread kokokokonut and it looks like my idea/plan would be a total fail. So I guess I should just add them back to the circle?

    And since we cannot re-choose the preference (I still want to date them just be smarter about it this time) I guess my only option is to pay to make up in kstars. However doing so they'll only call again if I say no to just one or two dates to break up and then its back to where I started. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

    Yes the ticket(s) I sent to glu were about this issue I even linked this thread so I'll wait until I hear back from them. I did get the automated response email both times I sent the ticket. I'm a little confused why you say I should contact google. Sorry its late here.

    Well, since it is very possibly the mechanics of Google+ that are keeping them in our game, I'm of the mind that if you ask everyone involved, one of them has to be the ones responsible. My thought, is that the game gets the info about who we want on the list, because we put that info into Google+ Circles, or Game Center depending on our operating system.

    So, if Glu and the game are merely displaying the info coming from Google+ or Game Center, wouldn't it be right to ask Google+ why we take them out of our circle, but they're still in the list of friends given by G+ of GC to the game. I know it's early, no caffeine for me yet, but does this make sense? I add a friend in a circle in Google+, they show up in my game because G+ tells Glu now Koko wants to play with Jane Smith. So, why isn't Google+ also telling Glu We removed John Doe? That's the question I'd ask google+. I'm not sure they'll give an answer, but unless I'm wrong, Glu gets the info from outside venues.

    But it's good you're in line for Customer Care. It would be great to find out who we should be trying to get current friend lists from.

    Koko I do see what you're saying. It is the mechanics; I got in touch with google (we just got off the phone as I type this) and explained my situation to them. We talked about it and I did everything right about removing them from the circles and what not but while I talked to the specialist over the phone I remembered my old gmail account. You see when I first started playing KKH (second game/current game) I was trying for so long to get it connected to my facebook so I could have someone send gifts, well that issue never got resolved even when I sent tickets to glu three times about it. So I gave up and switched to Google+. Here is where I made my mistake, in the facebook groups for KKH I posted my email and as soon as that happened I started getting spam emails from people in countries over in Africa and the Middle East asking me to be their friend, how cute I was, what my personal info was, and talking about how they were in refugee camps and etc.

    I panicked and took down nearly all personal info off my profile and set up all kinds of security/privacy settings on facebook. Then I sent in another ticket to Glu to figure out how I can keep my progress without starting over. So I logged out of that account on the game deleted that email account/Google+, neglecting to check if my circles were cleared out before doing so and I created a new gmail account (the one I posted about in this thread) and added a few people back and a few others. So basically the ones who won't go away are from my old email which is not recoverable because that account has been gone for approximately three months now. So those contacts are basically just stuck.

    However the specialist told me there is a possibility this could be the issue but then again maybe not. If anyone at glu sees this that may help clarify the ticket I sent in.
    I'm so P.O. about this but it looks like nothing can be done at this time.

    You know, I'd be so much smarter about adding people now than I was then. I have had luck taking people out of GC after a while, but not so much with 2 test google+ contacts. It's been over a week now, and they're not moving. Well, Glu is monitoring the support threads, so I am sure they're hard at work trying to fix the whole Google, google+ experience. I would love to ask them a few things, but a) I'd get frustrated b) I don't talk well to tech. Goes back to hubby being a puterhead, and my problem with authority. lol. Thanks for getting through and trying with them. ;) I hope it resolves soon.

    I heard back from glu and here is what Lisa has sent me.

    So I took the risk and uninstalled the game. Earlier today I could not log in through Google+ when I tapped the icon under the contacts menu it would not work. When I got home I was able to login but when I did my girl was not there. Instead, this guy from the create a character screen is.

    I am logged in. That is me and that is one of my contacts! I have absolutely no clue what to do at this point I can only hope the correct character shows up in the next few days if not. I don't know. I guess I will have to send another ticket

    It looks like I have lost everything I am so angry right I am struggling to remain calm as I type this. Lisa gave me such a poor response the first time and then I had to send another ticket in for clarification. I am not sure what to do, I'm gonna look around the forums and see. :mad:

    Oh, I am so sorry. But reading Lisa's response, it said pretty clearly you would have to uninstall and start over, and It looks like that's what happened. If you made any purchases, you can get those purchases restored. I guess you respond to Lisa, and see if she can help you in any way. I am just so very sorry this happened. But rather than send another ticket, can you respond to the current one? That would be my response. While she said you would have to start over, she should have been clear that the whole game would be gone.

    Just gonna leave this here. It seems to me Glu has gotten slightly better at removing people from your list. For me, it takes way less time than what it used to.

    But recently the screen on my Pantech P9070 broke and I thought replacing it would be easy...well not so much considering the fact that the phone is not made anymore and no matter where I went the answer to getting it fixed was a no. So I am going to have to start over for the fourth time. What really ****es me off is that Lisa from customer service informed me that nothing will be restored this time because I did not make that many purchases when I started over. The only one I made was the 1.99 offer for energy and 50 k-stars. One again I have lost all the prizes I won from events and clothes.

    To add to my worries, I got my new phone at the store on Sunday. So I missed the 1-year anniversary weekend event. I logged back in using the same Google account that I used before since I first started playing and nothing came up. I did not even uninstall my game on my old phone. So I have no clue what to do. Right now it is still on the create a character screen. I know the game is saved to the device you play on but is there a small chance after playing for a little while on my new phone my old data will pop up? I feel like that won't happen, but I haven't tried yet. I also haven't heard from in-game support either.

    Which brings me to my next issue. Besides Lisa and how unhelpful she is. Why is it Glu cannot develop an online save or something to back up the game?? It's ridiculous the game has been out for a year and they still have not resolved this issue. But hey let's add some useless babies that don't do anything or contribute to gameplay. In addition to that let's add 6 new outfits that can't be gifted. Yea I am beyond ****ed off at this point. :mad:

    Ok, this is really awful. ok, so you set up the new phone with the google/google+ id from the old game right? The first time you get to the customization screen, I went into panic mode. I shut down. Then I remembered, it didn't ask what I wanted to be called, so I went back in. The 2nd time I started on the new device, the little box asking me to choose between two sets of data. One was the first level, all opening stats, the 2nd choice was my old game. Same level, cash, energy, and KStars. I picked that game, and my game was right there.
    Hold on, I privately helped someone do this, and she wrote back that it worked perfectly. Let me go see if I have a copy.

    Any chance you tried to go back in and it worked?

    I keep trying, but the sign in box is not popping up because I already logged in. Maybe I should try installing and uninstalling? To try and log in again.

    Yasamin from the in-game Glu support just replied to me saying that she'll send my old currency. As gracious as that is. No. I need my old data. I did not spend a bunch of k-stars to get that slicked back hair for nothing not to mention that hair without the bunny ears everyone is wearing. I am not about to lose this for the fourth time.

    Koko did you hear back from this person? I know exactly what grey box you are talking about. Funny thing is when I had my replacement last time it worked but that replacement was the same as the old phone. Now I tried turning my new phone off and hoping to see a login or grey box but nothing popped up. The only notification given was the pulldown that read my Google+ name and displayed my picture it then continued the customization screen. Also, Koko one of the people on google+ that I have in my circle for the game told me that the grey box doesn't work like it used to.

    Wow, where is Gluadmin or KKHStaff?? All these problems on this portion of the forum and they remain silent.

    do you have cloud saving turned on on the old device? do you have it turned on on the new device?

    i don't know much about the android side of things but if you still have access to the old game on the old device you still have a shot. try googling a program called helium. it might get you sorted.

If you game has not been saved to the Google Servers, by manually selecting that previously and you delete the game, uninstall reinstall and have to start over, if your device doesn't have the game data stored, there is nothing anyone can do.

    Now, if the old device is avail, as Alkoholiks said , then there is a chance. if your old game is still on the old device, go in to settings/restore and backup/ choose to save applicatoin date to the google servers. But if you've already been playing with those googleplay credentials on the new device, then I am sorry but you will just have to accept the restoration of your purchases.

    I'm also sorry you feel glu's abandoned the forum. That just isn't true, I'm pretty sure I told you the game data most likely was gone. Now Glu has told you the same. But you want other glu personnel to swoop in and basically do the impossible. I understand how frustrating this is.

    I know my games could be gone eveytime I think it takes too long to open up. So, aside from the losing data, what other issues have affected you personally that you'd like kkhstaff to look into? I'm being serious. I try very hard to help people, and if you're disatisfied, tell me and I'll try to get you more help.

    I'm off to look up Helium. I would LOVE to sleep easier knowing my game was saved.

    Do you know where I would go to enable cloud saving or do I have to download the helium app first? Funny thing is I did have that app on my desktop and old phone, but I got rid of it because I could not get it to work. But this time I'm going to have to. I did/do not on my Pantech P9070. Unfortunately, the screen cracked severely when I fell and broke it and I cannot turn it on to access any files or data. That android was also kind of old so I'm not sure if it would've been able to do that. But then again I'm not the most tech-savvy clearly based on this thread.

    I know this isn't an issue Gluadmin or KKH staff can fix it just gets on my nerves that there are a number of threads in the FAQ section and it would be nice if they replied to at least a couple saying "team will be notified" or ask a question but then again they probably did that or something and I just didn't see it. As for saving to google servers I'm not entirely sure how to select that? I did find the I mean when I downloaded the game again on Sunday and signed in through my google account to play I thought that was all you had to do. Most of the issues with the game that affected me personally are in this thread. I will be looking into helium as well if it works then I'll be able to rest easy.


    EDIT: On my ZTE compel I found the backup and restore that I believe you mentioned under settings and selected the email/google+ I use to play the game as the backup for app data, WIFI, and other settings to google servers. Am I on the right track or no? I also watched a video on YouTube of how to access data when something like what happened to me occurs--you have to get this special USB cord and mouse and hook it up to your laptop and it will enable you to access everything from the screen of your PC. However, one of my contacts from my google+ circle informed me that my star in the game went navy blue as of tonight. So Since I have to start over and I'm not looking to spend that kind of money...I guess there is no point. Hopefully, helium will save me this time.

    I share your frustration, in my case I felt helpless, my eyes were closing, and tbh if there are glitches that need glu staff, I try to notice and grab their attention. But in the case of changing devices, they're just not going to become involved, and if they did, then maybe the glitch and gameplay issues would suffer. Let me try and help you get to the Settings on your old device, so you can hopefully save that game to the server. After that is set, I would boot up the old game on your old device, (you've already changed settings and closed down,) while that game is open and in play,
    then you should uninstall on the new device.
    Reinstall on the new device, and Fingers crossed the new device will have a box giving you a choice between device A and Device B. Just be so careful to choose the old device data. It should be Device B, that will list your old level, old $$ etc. Device A will list either brand new stats (Pretty much the level and cash and energy of a newb) or the stats for the game previously on your new device. Anyway, make sure you choose the stats you want to go on with in the game. Choose that device, close your eyes, think good thoughts as it loads and then hopefully it will open to your old game on your new device.

    Now about the settings: I'm going to suggest you set the old device to Save to the google servers, and set the new device NOT to save to the google servers. You don't want to go through all this and have your new undesirable game save over the old game.

    Now hang on while I grab the instructions for setting it to save manually.

    Go to Settings:
    Accounts
    Backup Options/Backup and Reset
    Backup and Restore - you now choose whether to save to the Google Servers

    See where mine was set to automatic? THat's how it is from factory. You must get to that page and tap the top choice "Back Up My Data"

    so, to paraphrase, on the old phone open your game. Make sure it's there. Go into settings, tell it to Back up. Go back into your game and play.

    Then - on the new device make sure you are set for the automatic, like the picture, do NOT tell this one to save to Google. Now reinstall the game on the new phone, (delete it first) and then my Choose your device popup should be there and follow that advice,

    Hope this helps, I didn't mean to become defensive, there are just some things they can't get involved with, especially because they can't help in cases like this. If anything isn't clear, please post about it here, and know we're all pulling for you to get this resolved.

    And the problem with a lot of old advice, both Apple and Android updated their Operating Systems within the past few months, so for iOS - ifunbox allegedly doesn't work anymore, I've been told by Samsung that the new OS doesn't save the game data doesn't save on Kies3 (file manager -except for app data program for Samsung Androids. The fact that I am not the ruler of my device is just wrong, but that's a rant for another day.

    It's early, I'm tired, and I hope it's clearer for you. Good luck. And, if anyone who doesn't have tired brain and no coffee for 3 days wants to paraphrase and make this into clear concise instructions.....please do. :)

    Good Luck Hoodstar9. My fingers are crossed and I so hope this brings back the game. Just know, you can't combine what your new game has and what your old game has. It's going to be one or the other if you have this choice.

    last ditch effort, you could look into rooting the old phone. not sure if this can be done strictly by computer but it would give you access to the old save files. unfortunately that is a rabbit hole no one likes to talk about around here so you'd have to google it.

    most likely you will have to start over again.

    it's a beyond fustrating issue because while Glu may not be able to do anything in this particular case they could do something about the saves in general. at the very least they could alert players to enable cloud saving on their devices. or they could implement a way to save/restore manually. or they could save progress on their servers.

    saving affects every single player. it shouldn't be ignored

    oh, I didn't know that. I know my son was running around with a crack in his ipod screen, till I saw it and told him NO. Then we went and he got a new one for his deductible so I didn't know a crack wouldn't let it operate.

    To be honest, when I come back to a thread, I don't re-read the whole thing, so if I toss out a stupid question now and then, I do apologize. I hate sounding like a moron, but worse i hate letting people down. :(

    I'm not sure if I'll be able to unfortunately mainly because I damaged the screen so bad to where my screen won't light up, but the buttons do. I did get a new phone today since I have more pressing real life things happening and I did redownload the game. Hopefully, I can get back to where I was before the end of July.

    Thank you both for the help. Hopefully, Glu can at st restore my money and kstars but I'm not too sure. I already sent a message to the in-game support. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
