Event Bubbles Wouldn’t Show

I was doing the last part of the Wild West appearance in Beverly Hills & 2 blue action bubbles appeared using about 4 energy & then no more bubbles showed up for the whole 3 hours of the event… I tried exiting out of the game & coming back & nothing, so I unfortunately got one star on the event & lost followers because of it.. has this ever happened to anyone else? Any tips to fix it if it happens again?
