Speed up relationship with spouse

Is there a way to speed the relationship progress with your spouse? Or can you only do it through dating? I know, You used to be able to do so through gifting but I don't think you can you gift your spouse anymore..unless I'm wrong?

you can no longer gift other dolls.   Dating is the only way to increase your relationship points with them. Sorry.

@kokokokonut ok, good to know! Thanks for telling me.  I was curious because it's been a while(obviously) since I tried to gift another character lol.
