Is this a glitch??

I'm an A list celebrity with the max 68.8 million fans. Level 16. However, all that has been happening in my game for several days now is Simon calls me with the saaaame photoshoots and apperances and mid level fashion shows of varying times over. And over. Again. Kim never calls. Maria never calls. Nothing happens. Ever. Except Simon calling with the same quests on repeat. Meanwhile, my friend plays who is also a list with the max fans and he's doing acting and and kim blows up his phone and he's doing a bunch of quests at once, and I'm mad because my games not doing that!! I'd really rather not start over cause I've invested in houses and clothes and such but I'm so bored with Simon calling about the same basic stuff I've been doing when my friend is doing all this cool stuff that I wish I was. Please help me get it back on track? I don't understand why I'm not getting these kinda of quests too.
