How can I remove people from my friends list?

I have a friend on game center who I friended for a trade in another game and he is ranked #1 with over 80M fans. I would be ranked number #1 if he weren't on my friends list, and it will take me a very long time to get enough fans to beat him. I deleted him on game center and in Kim K he is still there! Is there any way to remove him?

    If you deleted on GC you are fine. It'll just take a bit for him to be removed.
