Star/Dollar Equivalency?

I was wondering if anyone knows what the star to dollar equivalency was. Like, for the Villa in Punta Mita, the price is either $8000 or 40 stars, and in Paris, the suite is $15,000 or 50 stars. In Calabasas, the mansion is $50,000 or 120 stars. Is the dollar value per star just random? Because there doesn't seem to be any consistency between the ratios..
