How to get bonus star when start gig?

Anyone know how to get or what should we do to get bonust star when we start gig? I used to get but i never get it anymore

    You need to buy more items with a star value from the wardrobe, or star value furniture. That increases your star count which you can see to the left side when you are in your wardrobe. When you start a gig, you will see in the lower left how many stars you have vs how many are needed for that gig to have the bonus star.

    I have bought so much stuff and it doesn't ever seem to benefit me. I haven't gotten a bonus in forever...

    Ok. I see now. I think I was misunderstanding. I am at 905/999. I need to get up to 999 to get bonuses. Got it!
