you can't pull in a post or anything other than an image file, and image files end in: ,jpg .gif etc. what you should do, because frankly we don't want to repost tumblr property, you should save the image you want to a free image hosting site: postimg , Photobucket , or any other. Then post the url of the hosted image inside those brackets. Good luck. Can't wait to see it.
ETA: OK this is weird the image that wooden post for you didn't end in.JPG. But when I quoted it it showed up from the post image site it's hosted on. Now the issue is your brackets are in right here's what it should be.

That is the only code you either put in the Insert Image Text Box, or you put it between the tags.

Better instructions, In giphy, choose the Advanced tab, that's where I took the picture and the code. Hit the download button, and it will take you to a page with JUST the picture you want. Copy that URL from the Address Bar, and put it between your Img tags.

Just a note about Photobucket, and it's important: It's really my fave place for saving my images, and I even found a great, easier way to post the images I make, here. BUT. Since last week--maybe longer than that, I haven't been there in a minute, my page is constantly getting hijacked. Over and over and over again, only being able to upload *rarely* in between. Then if you can upload, when you're trying to get the link, boom--hijacked. So I think it best to stay away from there for a while, especially if you have any worries about the security of your device. And the first hijack kicks you from one to the next to the next....You can't go back to your previous, normal page, and the problem tries to prevent you from plugging in a new url manually as well as sometimes hitting a "favorite" or whatever you try. I also suspect possible phishing. And no way I can even get in touch with them to tell them what's up. If you're a mobile and laptop 500-different-kinds-of-hyper-security maniac like I am, your device should be ok. But just the same, it's most prob best to avoid the site. So be careful out there, dolls, ok? Ok.

Once you have your image link, hit the icon (in the grey text editor box above your message) to the right of the 2 globes (1st links a link, 2nd takes away the link) the framed icon represents an image you want to add. tap that and a box opens up put the link in, hit ok, and you are good to go.
If you're in general discussion and want to share a video, hit the icon next to the image icon, it looks like a 2 frame filmstrip. you can use that for videos like youtube.
