It goes to the spouse, or other recipient. If I send you a gift, it boosts your star or heart value.

if it’s an NPC you cannot make him go up or down in rank he is computer controlled, and you can dress him up, but you can’t change his rank.
If you send gifts to a player controlled game, those professional points or romantic points from each gift will be added to the player controlled doll’s value so when they start a gig, or a date in their own game they receive the bonus star.

Aw, ok. They should let our romancing of tht computer ones affect their fanbase and rank. I am putting K-stars into thos relationship ,😁

I have outfitted my npc cutie, so that’s why when he calls for a date, I go running to call him. His status in the game is still E, he wears what I put him, and dresses as well as LD. Besides, being a low rank, if we break up for some reason, the make up cost will not be as high as it would if he were A. I don’t see how his rank affects you, other than him having the apartment at the airport, or you setting him up in your gatehouse. Is there something I’m missing?

I buy a lot of stuff for my NPC, but lets face it, all the cute ones were E list when I was looking. lol. In face, Noah looks a lot like Raul. I'll dig him up and show you why i chose an audiologist.....
