It really depends. Judging by the comments, in the US it's definitely a very casual outing, even a bit sloppy lol I wouldn't know since where I'm from going to casinos is not really a thing. However, if you want to follow theĀ ~Hollywood fantasy~ and how it's portrayed in movies, then it's definitely gowns and more elegant outfits:

If we were voting on theme, I'd submit casual outfits with a drink handheld, just because that's how most casinos are. I've seen way too many people stumbling around with beer stains and ratty clothes to think otherwise lol. But that's not what is going to get votes.
I feel like formal gowns is what voters will want. That seems to be the default when people are unsure of the theme. Personally, I would submit something between those two like a shorter dress with a drink handheld. Dressy, but not over the top. But my gut says gowns are the way to go

I love the TS items! Though I'm not holding out much hope for first place. The hair is just a red flag to the ticket buyers.

I donāt really like the TS prizes this time except for the silver sandals, so Iām going to use this opportunity to see votersā responses to some changes in my looks. Canāt wait to start experimenting and share the results with you!

... The only thing Iām really disappointed in with this SYS is that it starts midday on a holiday. I hope I can pull myself out of the pub long enough to submit some looks š
Well this is a confusing theme because the last time I was in Las Vegas, I wore denim shorts, flip flops and a loose t-shirt during the entire trip. But my gut feeling says SYS voters will want us to dress in gowns as if it's not 110 degrees in the desert where most casinos are located.
So I googled the dress code for the Casino de Monte-Carlo:
Dress Code
"There is no specific dress code for the casino, but āproper attireā is required. This means no shorts, sports shoes or flip flops to be worn at any times. So if you want to play make sure you have alternatives for those three items, even if you do wear them for the rest of your stay. After 8pm, the casino recommends jackets to be worn"
