I have 4 ticket buyers on my TS and just like I have some girls struggling to at least stay in fifth place, I wouldn't mind losing to people who would really be sending appearances that match the theme, but it's not unfair for you to send appearances with the theme, have enough points to stay in place and someone came and took it off, so every week that goes by the SYS is getting worse and it just seems to get worse
@Scarletkkh how am I “stealing a spot”? Buying tickets doesn’t guarantee I receive a vote. I still have to style a good look. I could buy a ton of tickets and style all poor looks and still wouldn’t do well. The fact I’m spending money motivates me even more to style the best look I can and not just submit some subpar look. So if I win anything, I earned it. When I’m submitting looks that get an average of 48, 49, and 53 votes, then I’m not stealing anything. If it bothers you that much that people are purchasing tickets and “stealing” spots, then why not purchase them yourself to make it fair? As I stated, it’s less cheaper (6.99 for a bundle of 12) to buy SYS event tickets than buying star packs for Kollection items.
Even with ticket buying, there’s no guarantee of winning the most coveted top spot. It’s all a gamble. There have been times I didn’t purchase any tickets at all, and lost to those who had the edge by purchasing tickets. There has also been times like now that I purchased tickets but someone else purchased more and styled good looks and beat me out of the top spot. I can’t get mad at anyone for choosing to take advantage of what the game allows us to do. Buying tickets gives those who purchase them an advantage just like choosing to buy other in game offers. That is the perk that comes with it. Just like those who purchase VIP and other game offers receive a perk. All I’m saying is it doesn’t make sense to blame those who take advantage of the paid perks. It seems because you choose NOT to purchase tickets, you expect others to do the same.
My reasonable suggestion is to just start purchasing tickets to even the playing field until GLU decides to remove the ticket buying option, if they ever do.
You are stealing the spot because you did not earn the highest scores. If you were winning and in first place based on the scores from your 14 looks, you wouldn't need to buy tickets to buy your way to the top (and thus, stealing first place from the person who earned it because they styled better looks than you did).
This part of the game is called trendsetters. Based on the ranking system and title, it implies that the person who styled the best looks (decided by their peers) wins the top prize in each group. By adding the option to buy tickets, people who don't style the best looks and thus don't receive the highest scores (like yourself) can steal it from the person who earned it (i.e. the top "trendsetter"). This practice forces the people who actually won to pay money for the chance at claiming their deserved prizes (if they choose to participate at that point).
I myself have fallen into this trap. During the SYS with the pearl hair, I had a very high average and performed the best in my T$ group. Someone else in my T$ group wanted the hair, so they bought and submitted ticket after ticket until they stole my spot. Unfortunately, I fell into Glu's trap and bought tickets to reclaim it. Honestly, even though I love that hair, looking at it causes me so much stress b/c of that event. I won't let Glu manipulate me like that again.
If you've never styled good enough looks to win T$ and then had someone else steal your spot you probably won't understand. People who would rather throw their money at the game b/c they have no style & would like to ruin it for the people who do are the ones financing Glu while simultaneously digging a grave for this game.
Edit: Adding that no, you do not need to style good looks if you buy tickets. Even if you score an average of 20, you can buy enough tickets to surpass everyone else.
I think bringing back the old sys would be the best thing to do or why not remove ticket buying all together and bring the fun back in it it's called show your style so it should be based around that not on who buys the most tickets it should be fair to everyone and everyone should get a chance to win the items what was wrong with the old sys system that they even changed it so many people love this game but it seems the fun is being sucked out in favor of money they say money is the root of all evil
Why there is suddenly so many people who came out of nowhere to defend buying tickets??? We talk about that subject every single week and theres always people against and in favor of buying tickets and thats okay but suddenly 3 or 4 people make their FIRST POST about that!?! Bots on the game are not enough? You need them in the forum as well?
Compromise? Top 3 get final wardrobe prize. Extend top 5 wardrobe prize to top 10 and keep all other rewards (dye, k-stars, energy) as is. First place gets additional prize of say, 3 or 5 diamonds?

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 This is a hell a good suggestion, first place would still get something that no one else would but at the same time more people can enjoy the prizes.
@katiealexandraa Again, I’m not “stealing” any spot. The spot belongs to whomever styles the best looks or submits the most looks. Which is why there’s a message that pops up that clearly states “keep submitting looks to get more votes!” Obviously this is how Glu meant for the game to be played. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be any clear winner if we all submitted the exact amount of looks and all scored well. I’m not sure what people don’t understand about this concept. You win not only based on how good your looks are but also how many looks you’ve submitted. It would be great if there was a perfect fair world where everyone opted not to buy extra tickets to make it fair; however it isn’t. This makes the game a challenge.
Furthermore, I don’t go into a game with the intention of buying tickets because I score pretty well without it, but when it’s an item. I clearly want e.g. hair and a bunch of ticket buyers are leading the pack, then I too will buy tickets.
Lastly, if I didn’t “steal’ the spot it would’ve been stolen by another ticket buyer. Each event I enter there are at least 2 or 3 ticket buyers. If you can’t beat them than join them. It’s meaningless to complain and try to dictate how others choose to play their game. If I feel the need to purchase tickets if it’s an item I really want and can, then I will continue to until the option is no longer available.
@AbbyFrank_98 You’re also not taking into account that not everyone has the luxury to spend on this game. I’m a free player and intend to stay that way especially since once you make any purchase you lose 20 daily free videos for kstars down to 5. It’s not always someone that is choosing not to “even the playing field” by taking advantage of tickets. They probably just don’t want to lose hundreds of free kstars for a hairstyle. No TS prize will ever be beautiful enough for me to make that trade. Doesn’t mean I don’t still seethe when I miss the top prize because someone paid their way to first place.
This thread is really just confirming my suspicions about rabid ticket buyers who submit basic looks to steal the number one spot lol. People like this cannot be reasoned with; the best way to deal with them is to hit disagree and move on.
@AbbyFrank_98 sorry but no... you are stealing a spot. Trendsetters should be about WHO has the best style. That’s what the word literally means. It’s upsetting when a player who averages in the mid 40s-50s is in fourth place or below because people are buying their way to the top. It should be about your score not about how many outfits you submitted. It’s gross and it’s a slap in the face to the players who take the time to put together a winning outfit. If you can’t get the scores without buying tickets you don’t deserve the prizes. You’re buying it. It cheapens the entire system.
Your “can’t beat them then join them” argument is part of the problem. You’re buying into this whole scam of ticket buying and encouraging glu to make more bundles with tickets. You’re not helping the game. You’re part of the problem. You go ahead and keep buying tickets. But don’t come on here where people are being honest about their opinions and tell them they’re wrong for feeling a certain way. Players are getting cheated. EVERY WEEK. And glu continues to make the problem worse. Players like you continue to make the problem worse. We can be upset about it and we get to be vocal about it because this is a forum for feedback.
@Smuckies we need to start charging glu for our services lol
But seriously, it’s incredibly frustrating that hackers can access SYS. That user said in a previous comment that they were unable to access SYS when it first came out Thursday, but clearly based on that picture they were eventually able to access it. This should be concerning to all players that play a fair game and glu- clearly these hackers have found a way to work around being detected and are still able to access these features.
